Houston, TX 77063
Sometimes it takes a good reason for me to drive out of my comfort zone of the area encompassing everything inside I10, 610, 59 and Midtown. Good reasons include: to see my mother, friends, and do the farmers market in Sugar Land, to go to the the fabric and craft stores off of Bissonnet, to attend events at NRG Stadium or The Woodlands, and last but certainly closer to the top of the list, FREE PIZZA. Being part of the Houston Food Blogger Collective will get you these kinds of perks!!
If there is a gluten-free pizza option in this city, I will eat it. And I will most definitely have opinions about it. As I’ve told you in previous reviews, I’m all about the positivity in my reviews, so while I will be honest and tell you things I really didn’t like, I’m also not going to waste my time on reviewing a place if I will never go there again.
Blaze Pizza, while out of my ‘hood, is definitely a place I will visit again. (How do you like that proper punctuation?) In fact, I have already told several people about their awesome, custom-pizza-builder concept. Basically, it’s Chipotle for pizza. You pick your 10″ crust (regular or gluten free), and your sauce and toppings. It’s all the same price and takes 180 seconds to “fast fire” it in their “blazing hot” oven. They also have signature pizzas if you don’t trust yourself with the endless flavor options (uh, me). I had the Green Stripe: pesto drizzled over grilled chicken, roasted red peppers, chopped garlic, mozzarella, arugula. I added some tomatoes on top and it was ready in a snap. The gluten-free crust takes a little longer than 3 minutes, and truth be told, it could have used a little longer. But the flavors were amazing, and yes I ate the whole thing. It is “personal size” after-all!
This location I visited is just inside the Beltway and there’s also one in Sugar Land, and soon to be locations in The Woodlands and Webster. They’re popping up everywhere, and for good reason. Get your butt to Blaze!
